Privacy Policy

The Kunsthalle HGN takes data protection seriously and attaches great importance to the protection of your personality rights. We undertake to comply with the legal data protection regulations, and use technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data (name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, etc.) against unauthorized access, improper use, destruction and loss. We make every effort to improve our security measures on an ongoing basis in accordance with technical developments.

1. Legal basis

The subject of data privacy is personal data. According to Section 3 (1) of the 1 LDSG (State Data Protection Act), this refers to personal or material details of an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes, for example, details such as name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number or IP address.

2. Processing of personal data

We use your personal data only for the purpose for which it was collected (e. g. answering enquiries, guided tour reservations, workshops and other activities, sending information material, sending the newsletter, participation in contests). This data is deleted as soon as the transaction is completed. The data entered in online forms for the newsletter and the press mailing list is stored until cancellation. Your data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent. All of the persons working for us are obliged to observe data secrecy pursuant to § 6 LDSG. In addition, the Kunsthalle HGN holds regular seminars on data protection.

3. Logging of accesses

Every time a user accesses the Kunsthalle HGN website, and every time a file is accessed, data on the transaction is stored temporarily and processed in a log file. The data is stored for internal, system-specific and statistical purposes to improve our information offer. The logged data is evaluated internally at irregular intervals by employees of the Kunsthalle HGN, e. g. accesses during the course of an exhibition. The evaluation is not user-specific, i. e. the Kunsthalle HGN does not compile any personal user profiles, not even with pseudonyms (e. g. IP addresses). The data is also not merged with other data sources and therefore does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about specific individuals.

The following data is logged:

  • IP address
  • name of the file accessed
  • date and time of access
  • data volume transferred
  • access status (file transferred, file not found, command not executed, etc.)
  • referrer (the referrer is the Internet address of the website from which the user accessed the Kunsthalle HGN website by clicking on a link, e. g. search engines or other sites)
