The HGN Collection

The collection sums up what its owner stands for: from his countless travels, world citizen Professor Hans Georg Näder has carried home works bearing an eloquent testimony to his passion for art spanning the last 25 plus years. Näder is at home in artists’ studios and galleries around the globe, usually walking off the beaten track and more often than not making long-time friends among their owners.

Contemporary Cuban art is a particular passion which he supports with his heart and soul, for instance by acting as a go-between for artists and curators or gallery owners, whether in the context of vernissages, artists’ residencies in Germany or in the studios of the Cuban metropolis of Havana.

Over and above Cuban art, the ever-growing collection now comprises more than 2.000 exhibits, boasting works by Norbert Bisky, Martin Kippenberger, Helmut Newton, Neo Rauch, Sigmar Polke, and Andy Warhol. As diverse as the artists’ names is the spectrum of their work covering photography, painting, sculptures, installations, time-based media and more.
